Discogram - Episode 1

A discogram (also known as a provocative discography) is presented for a a 45 year old lady who developed significant back, left buttock and burning leg pain when she simply bent to put on her socks two years previously. She is unable to do her gardening or as she says “my normal things”.

Her MRI scan shows a high intensity zone, tear in the L5/S1 disc but no actual nerve root compromise.

A discogram procedure is presented along with explanation/discussion and reassurance that normal discs do not cause any real discomfort during discography.
