Back Pain - Facet joint pain: Part 1
A 50 year old man presented with a 5 year story of back pain, which had been getting slowly worse. The pain was in the low part of the back, and was much worse on the left side. The pain then spread into the buttock and the back of the thigh (into the hamstring). The pain was aggravated by bending, lifting, walking and rolling in bed. Sitting was variably sore. The intensity of pain in the back was worse than the leg pain. The leg pain was a general aching sensation. The back pain was similar, but at times it was sharp. However, he could walk without much pain: and indeed, walking helped to relieve the pain.
Find out more information about his case history and clinical presentation including discussion and findings from a Medial Branch Block.

Lumbar Facet Joint Radiofrequency Neurotomy - Episode 1
A man in his 50s is presented with chronic low back pain on the right. His pain is worse on stairs and he finds it hard to get in and out of his car or sit in a soft chair. Medial branch blocks more than halved his pain taking it from a pain score greater than 6/10 down to 2/10. The right L3/4, L4/5 and L5/S1 facet joints are denervated by radiofrequency neurotomy.

Keeping up-to-date with Internet trends…
Would you believe that over 120 million Americans now have broadband access! According to research produced by a Nielsen/Netratings survey, 42% of Americans now have broadband access at home. Their research also shows that “broadband users spend more time and money online because their surfing experience is faster, more persistent, and ultimately, more satisfying. This is good news for consumers, publishers and advertisers alike.”
At Lowbackpain.TV we are making the most of the experiences afforded by broadband use in offering the high quality, full screen streaming of video content to help users better understand ways that back pain can be diagnosed and managed.
